Go with me to last week. It’s 6pm on Wednesday night and nothing that we usually have for dinner sounds good. I need new ideas that are gluten free, that are cheap, and that my kid is actually going to eat. Enter these 11 gluten free dinners. I literally made one of these dinners last week because nothing else sounded good. We all go through nights like this juggling health goals, allergies, and the chaos of daily life. We just want to feed our families quick affordable and delicious meals. We should never have to sacrifice eating something delicious and healthy because we have allergies and tight budgets.  You are going to love these gluten free dinners for your busy weeknights all year long.

Why Gluten Free Dinners Don’t Have to Be Complicated

Gluten free dinners definitely have a reputation of being expensive or difficult.

Whether you’re new to having allergies, used to the huge price tag attached to them or you’re feeding someone for the first time with food allergies, these recipes are for you.

These gluten free dinners don’t take more than 30 minutes to prep and they’re full of pantry staples and affordable ingredients. This is how gluten free cooking can be all the time. Check out these other easy healthy dinner recipes for more ideas. I also compiled these 10 delicious soups for winter time or all of your time if you’re a soup person that are gluten free and dairy free and cheap. Not only are these dishes going to be safe for your family to eat and cheap but they also are going to minimize dishes. I hate doing dishes as much as I hate spending too much money on groceries. So these meals fit all of those criteria.

Tips for Building Budget-Friendly, Allergy-Safe Meals

Some of these meals have swaps that you might need to make that I have specifically mentioned. I’ve made most of these meals naturally gluten free and dairy free so we don’t have to spend extra money on expensive substitutions!

You might want to buy some dairy free cheese, gluten free pasta and dairy free milk to always have on hand for these and future gluten free meals. Plus when we have these type of things on hand we can buy them on sale and store up so we can always have gluten free budget friendly meals.

Another little secret I have is that I do not buy dairy free butter. I use margarine in most cases. Margarine may not be a whole food but it is cheaper than dairy free butter and is dairy free. It’s made with vegetable oil as the base. So I like to keep some margarine on hand because I use it all the time.

Yet another hurdle that we have as families dealing with allergies is making things our kids will eat. All of these meals are kid approved and can be used to feed infants and toddlers alike.

I have a one year old that I like to break these meals up for and he eats what we eat. I tried to avoid being a short order chef, because it’s difficult it’s expensive and it doesn’t teach my kids to eat what I serve. These meals are designed for everyone to enjoy.
